Barry
Munday Award
The
Barry Munday Recognition Award has been established in honour of
the late Dr. Barry Munday who contributed substantially to the study
of wildlife diseases in Australia and was instrumental in the founding
of the Australasian Section.
The
Award aims to recognise the significant contributions to wildlife
health made by a member of the Australasian Section in the preceeding
5 years and consists of a shield made from Tasmanian timber and
with details of the Award and Awardee engraved on a plaque.
2007
Award
The
were two nominations for the Barry Munday Recognition Award in 2007,
the Award going to Lee Skerratt in acknowledgement of his contribution
to the study of wildlife diseases in Australia and his support for
and encouragement of students and colleagues.
Dr Skerratt
is currently Research Fellow, Biosecurity and Infectious Diseases
Research Group, School of Public Health, Tropical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Sciences, James Cook University, Townsville, Queensland.
